.JPG) Events | April 5-8 | Will Gadd & Jeff Greenbaum Clinics | | Comment from Jeff | Many of us got to base (about 6000 yesterday). I left Santag at base, flew over to Granny's, got back to almost base right above the LZ. Will pretty much went all over the valley, but his goal was not to leave. Simply put, one super great person to look up to, that Will.
One of the pilots got real low. Will was on the radio right as he hit a bullet thermal at about 500'. After trying to coach him to turn more, without enough response, Will said, "For God's Sake, TURN!", after which the pilot cored the tight thermal and climbed about 800 ft rapidly. Funny as it sounds, it was fun to watch. | | April 12-13 | Jugdeep Competition | | Comments | Pilots made flights out as far as Linsay on Saturday. Quite an event after the task that was called, where pilots had to first fly the ridge and then fly out to the edge of Orange Cove before heading south.. This is a new record for the site and shows the advances being made with newer equipment designs. The competition went well and the weather cooperated to let everyone have the opportunity to shake of the winter blues. | | April 19-20 | Work Party to finish clearing the north launch and to work on repairing the ramp. | | June 21-22 | Jugdeep Competition | | August 23-24 | XOP Competition | | September 6-7 | Jugdeep PG Competition |
